Archbishop Romulo Valles nahalal na bagong CBCP president
Nakaboto na ng mga bagong opisyal ang mga Obispo ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).
Sa CBCP biannual plenary assembly na ginanap sa Pope Pius Center sa Maynila napiling susunod na pangulo ng CBCP si Archbishop Romulo Valles ng Davao City habang si Caloocan Bishop Pablo David ang napiling vice president.
Papalitan ni Archbishop Valles si outgoing CBCP President Archbishop Socrates Villegas.
Bagaman nakapili na ng mga bagong lider ang CBCP ay sa buwan pa ng Enero sa susunod na taon sila opisyal na manunungkulan.
Ang isang termino ng CBCP president at vice president ay tumatagal ng dalawang taon at maaari rin silang tumakbo para sa re-election.
