AFP handang ipaliwanag sa Supreme Court ang martial law sa Mindanao

Handang humarap ang mga opisyal ng Armed Forces of the Philippines o AFP sa oral arguments ng Korte Suprema kaugnay sa mga petisyon laban sa idineklarang Martial Law sa Mindanao ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Sa Mindanao Hour, sinabi ni AFP Spokesperson Brig. General Restituto Padilla, ipapadala ng AFP sa Supreme Court ang mga kinakailangang resource persons upang maipaliwanag ang rason kung bakit nagpasya ang presidente na ideklara ang Batas Militar.

Ani Padilla, maaaring humarap sa oral arguments sina AFP Chief of Staff Eduardo Año o Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana na kapwa mga security advisers ni Duterte at nagbibigay ng impormasyon sa galaw ng Maute terror group bago pa man sumiklab ang krisis sa Marawi City.

Kahapon, nagsimula ang oral arguments sa Kataas-taasang Hukuman at ngayong araw ang pagpapatuloy nito.

Kabilang sa petitioners kontra sa Proclamation 216 sina Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman, mga militanteng grupo at ilang residente ng Marawi City.

Maliban sa pagkwestyon sa Martial Law sa Mindanao, gusto rin ng petitioners na atasan ng Korte Suprema ang Kongreso na magsagawa ng joint session upang talakayin ang naturang deklarasyon ng pangulo.
