DOT, tinitingan ang pagkakaroon ng visa-free policy para sa mga turistang Chinese

dotTinitingnan ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas ang posibilidad ng pagkakaroon ng visa-free travel para sa mga turistang Chinese kaugnay ng pagpapalakas ng tourist arrivals sa bansa.

Ayon kay Department of Tourism (DOT) Route Development Head Erwin Balane na ang China ang may isa sa pinakamalaking bilang ng mga outbound tourists noong nakaraang taon na aabot sa 120 million kumpara sa 491,000 ng Pilipinas.

Dagdag pa ni Balane na ang mga travel requirements tulad ng visa ay nagsisilbing “barriers” na pumipigil sa mga leisure travelers mula sa China na piliin ang Pilipinas bilang vacation destination.

Giit pa ni Balane na kung titingnan ang mga bansang Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore at maging ang Vietnam, ang mga turistang Chinese ay visa-free entry, kaya malaki ang bilang mga ito na bumibisita sa kanilang bansa.

Kaugnay nito aabot sa 50 nationalities ang may visa-free privileges sa Pilipinas.
