BFAR, nagpatupad ng shellfish ban sa ilang bahagi ng Visayas

Isinailalim ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources sa shellfish ban ang ilang bahagi ng Visayas dahil sa red tide.

Nakasaad sa shellfish bulletin ng BFAR, kabilang sa mga apektadong lugar ay ang Irong-Irong at Cambatutay Bay sa Western Samar.

Kasama rin ang Matarinao Bay sa Eastern Samar, karagatang sakop ng Leyte, Cancabato Bay sa Tacloban City at Carigara Bay sa Leyte.

Dahil dito, ipinaalala ng bfar na bawal kainin ang anumang uri ng shellfish sa mga nabanggit na lugar.

Gayunman, kung may mga idineklara, inalis naman na sa listahan ng mga may red tide ang Daram Island sa Western Samar kaya maari nang kainin ang mga lamang dagat na mahuhuli sa naturang lugar.
