Kasado na sa June 28 ang filing ng electoral protest ni Sen. Bongbong Marcos laban kay incoming Vice President Leni Robredo.

Sa isang ambush interview kaninang umaga sa Davao City, sinabi ni Marcos na malakas ang kanilang mga ebidensiyang hawak na magpapatunay kaugnay sa talamak na dayaan noong May 9 election.

Ipinaliwanag din ni Marcos na masyadong malawak ang naganap na massive vote buying at ballot switching at ang lahat ng mga ito ay kanilang patutunayan sa reklamong ihahain sa Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET).

Inabot ng madaling araw ang kanyang pakikipag-pulong kay incoming President Rodrigo Duterte kung saan ay kanyang sinabi na handa siyang maging bahagi ng bagong administrasyon.

Si Marcos ay tinalo ni Robredo sa pamamagitan ng mahigit sa 260,000 votes.
