Watawat sa mga korte sa bansa, naka-half mast dahil sa pagpanaw ni dating CJ Corona
Ipinag-utos ng Korte Suprema na ilagay sa half mast ang watawat ng Pilipinas sa lahat ng korte sa bansa matapos ang pagpanaw ni dating Chief Justice Renato Corona.
Sa statement na inilabas ng mataas na hukuman, nakasaad na nakikiramay si Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno at ang mga associate justice ng SC sa pamilya ng dating punong mahistrado.
“The Philippine flag in all courts and the Supreme Court will be flown half staff starting today. His remains will lie in state at The Heritage Park starting April 30, 2016,” ayon sa statement ng SC.
Si Corona ay ipinanganak noong October 15, 1948 at pumanaw sa edad na 67.
Siya nag-aral ng elementarya hanggang sa Bachelor of Laws sa Ateneo de Manila University.
Nagtapos din si Corona ng Masters of Law sa Harvard University noong 1982 at ginawaran ng Doctor of Civil Law Degree ng University of Sto. Tomas.
Si Corona ang ika-23 Chief Justice na nanungkulan noong April 9, 2002 hanggang May 12, 2012 kung kailan siya pinatalsik sa puwesto.
Bago nanungkulan sa hudikatura nagsilbi si Corona bilang Chief of Staff at Presidential Legal Counsel ni dating pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
