Joint exploration sa West Philippine Sea ipinamamadali ng China
Ibinunyag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na humihirit si Chinese President Xi Jinping na isantabi muna ang naging desisyon ng permanent court of arbitration noong 2016 na hindi kinikilala ng China ang nine dash claim sa South China Sea.
Ayon kay Pangulong Duterte, nakikiusap kasi si Xi para matuloy ang joint exploration project sa pagitan Pilipinas at China sa West Philippine Sea.
Sa naturang kasunduan, magiging 60-40 ang hatian kung saan 60 percent ang Pilipinas habang 40 percent ang sa China.
Ayon sa pangulo, ito aniya ang ipinangako sa kanya ni Xi basta’t huwag munang igigiit ng Pilipinas ang arbitral ruling
“Set aside your claim. Then allow everybody connected with the Chinese companies. They want to explore and if there is something sabi nila, “We would be gracious enough to give you 60 percent.” Forty lang ang kanila. That is the promise of Xi Jinping”, ayon pa sa kalihim.
