Aabot sa P280 milyong pondo ang ilalaan ng gobyerno para sa libreng internet wifi sa 114 na state universities and colleges (SUCs) sa buong bansa.
Ayon kay Makati Representative Luis Campos Jr. na miyembro ng House Committee on Appropriations, ang P280 milyong ay kasama sa P3.757 trilyong panukalang budget para sa taong 2019.
Dagdag ni Campos, aabot sa 1.3 milyong estudyante ang inaasahang makikinabang dahil sa libreng wifi.
Sinabi pa ni Campos na malaking tulong ang libreng wifi para sa pag-aaral o research ng mga estudyante.
