Joint exploration sa WPS, suportado ng militar ayon sa Malacañang
Tiniyak ng Palasyo ng Malacañang na suportado ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang planong joint exploration kasama ang China sa West Philippine Sea.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, nagkaroon si Foreign Affairs Sec. Alan Peter Cayetano ng ‘restatement of policy’ sa militar tungkol sa joint exploration.
Sinabi ni Roque na suportado ng mga sundalo ang planong joint oil exploration basta’t malinaw lamang na walang ibibigay na kahit katiting na teritoryo ang Pilipinas.
“Eh lahat naman po supportive. Basta malinaw po na wala tayong pinamimigay na teritoryo. We are working with the realities of modern day life, we’re working with the realities of geopolitics, but we’re promoting the national interest, first and foremost,” ani Roque.
Iginiit ng kalihim na ang posisyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa isyu ay hindi kailanman isusuko ang anumang bahagi ng teritoryo ng Pilipinas.
Ang mga hakbang anya ng pamahalaan ay alinsunod sa realidad ng modernong panahon kung saan pinaiiral ang konsepto ng geopolitics habang itinataguyod ang pambansang interes na unang-unang prayoridad.
Samantala, sinabi na rin ng opisyal na anumang oras ay malalagdaan na ang kasunduan para sa planong joint exploration.
