Pumanaw na sa edad na 67 si dating Ambassador Jose Apolinario Lozada Jr.

Nakaranas ng brain hemorrhage si Lozada habang naka-confine sa National Kidney and transplant Institute ayon sa kaniyang anak na babae.

Si Lozada ay matagal na nanilbihan bilang ambassador ng Pilipinas sa Austria, Palau at sa Holy See.

Noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Fidel V. Ramos ay naging adviser for foreign affairs at appointment secretary si Lozada mula 1992 hanggang 1998.

Naging kongresista din siya sa Negros Occidental sa loob ng dalawang termino.
