Mga sugat muling nabuksan sa pagbasura ng ill-gotten wealth case laban sa Marcoses ayon sa ilang mambabatas
Muling nagbukas sa malalalim na sugat ang desisyon ng Korte Suprema na ibasura ang ill-gotten wealth case laban sa pamilya Marcos at cronies nito.
Ito ang iginiit ni Akbayan Representative Tom Villarin at sinabing handa ang Kataas-taasang Hukuman na maging sunud-sunuran sa kapangyarihan.
Ayon sa mambabatas, binuksan ng naturang desisyon ang mga sugat ng bansa at hinayaan nito ang mga Marcos na irebisa ang kasaysayan at yurakan ang demokrasya.
Samantala, binatikos din ni Gabriela Rep. Emmi de Jesus ang desisyon at sinabing isa itong ‘go signal’ para sa mga mandrambong at isa ring insulto para sa mga biktima ng martial law.
Ikinalungkot ni De Jesus ang tila pagpapagamit ng Korte Suprema pabor sa mga Marcos at payagan ang ‘historical revisionism’.
“While not surprising, this development disturbingly conveys a message that you can raid the public coffers and amass billions and still get off the hook even years and decades after. This creates impunity for plunderers while casting a sharp insult to victims of martial law like me who have long fought for the recovery of the ill-gotten wealth of the Marcoses,” ani de Jesus.
Ibinasura na kahapon ng SC ang apela ng Presidential Commission on Good Governance na bawiin ang umano’y nasa P51B nakaw na yaman ng mga Marcos at cronies nito.
