Sec. Guevarra, mas gustong manatili sa DOJ ang PCGG at OGCC
Gusto ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra na manataili bilang attached agencies ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) at Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC).
Ayon kay Guevarra, kanilang nirerespeto ang panukala ng House of Representatives pero aniya ay mananatili ang kanilang posisyon na dapat manatili ang mga ito sa ilalim ng kagawaran .
Ang PCGG ay siyang humahabol sa mga nakaw na yaman ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, pamilya nito, mga kamag-anak at mga cronies nito.
Habang ang OGCC ang siya namang principal law office ang mga government-owned and controlled corporations, mga subsidiaries nito, mga government financial institutions, mga government corporate offspring, mga government instrumentalities na may corporate powers at ang government-acquired asset corporations.
Nitong Martes ay pumasa sa pangatlo at huling pagbasa ang panukalang pagpapalakas sa Office of the Solicitor General kabilang na ang pag-take over sa PCGG.
Sa botong 162-10 ay naaprubahan ang House Bill 7376 kung saan principal authored si House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
