$13.7 Million na halaga ng military drones inilipat na sa Philippine Air Force
Umaabot sa anim na Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) mula Estados Unidos ang nasa pangangalaga na ngayon ng Philippine Air Force (PAF).
Ang mga UAVs ay binili mula sa Amerika sa ilalim ng Foreign Military Financing Program na nagkakahalaga ng $13.7 Million o katumbas ng P685 Million.
Sa Villamor Airbase, pinangunahan nina Sec. Delfin Lorenzana at US ambassador Sung Kim ang pagpapasinaya at turnover ceremony ng naturang mga military equipment.
Ayon kay Lorenzana, gagamitin ang mga ito sa internal security operations, counter terrorism, maritime patrol at humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations dahil taun- taon ay ilang bagyo ang dumarating sa bansa.
Samantala, sinabi naman ni PAF Chief Lt Gen. Galileo Gerald Kintanar, ang pagdating ng anim na UAVs ay mas mapapalakas pa ang ground and air operations kasama na ang naval forces.
Ito ang kauna unahang pagkakataon ay nagkaroon ng Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ang PAF at ng AFP.
