Pangulong Duterte ikinuwento ang papel ni Cory Aquino sa kanyang political career
Hindi ikinakaila ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na malaki ang naging papel ni dating Pangulong Corazon Aquino sa kanyang political career.
Sa kanyang talumpati sa oath-taking ceremony ng mga miyembro ng Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), ikinuwento ng pangulo ang kasaysayan ng kanyang pagiging pulitiko na nagsimula umano sa sakripisyo ng kanyang inang si Soledad Duterte.
Ayon sa pangulo, ang nanay niyang si Soledad ay isa sa apat na orihinal na tagasuporta ng mga Aquino na noong panahong iyon ay walang namamansin sa kabila ng pagkilos ng mga ito.
“Then Cory came. You know, for all of their yellow ano — my mother was one of the four original yellow guys now who used to march the thoroughfares of Davao. Apat lang sila.Aapat lang sila. And at that time, nobody was paying attention to them. But she was already shouting. Hindi naman ‘yung ano without — bereft of any sabihin nila utang na loob na ano because I was appointed OIC vice mayor. My mother sacrificed. Every Davaoeño here in this room would tell you.”, ani ng Pangulo.
Dahil dito ay itinalaga siya bilang Officer-in-Charge Vice Mayor ng Davao at sinabing ang pagkakatalaga sa kanya ni dating Pangulong Aquino ang nagsimula sa kanyang political career.
“And so ‘yung — that start me in Davao and I owe it to Cory Aquino. Appointed me as OIC. I got out from the prosecution, then started my career as an OIC, then ran after the OIC, mayor”, ani Duterte.
