Nasunog ang station 5 ng Manila Police District (MPD) sa Quirino Grandstand alas 3:40 ng hapon ng Biyernes.
Tumagal lang ng limang minuto ang sunog matapos na gamitan ito ng mga kagawad ng station 5 ng fire extinguisher.
Ayon kay kay MPD Station 5 Commander Supt. Emery Abating, nagsimula ng sunog sa stockroom ng istasyon makaraang dumikit ang mga papel sa lumang socket ng silid.
Napasugod din sa station 5 si MPD Director Chief Supt, Joel Coronel at mga miyembro ng Manila fire para kumustahin ang mga tauhan nito.
Dahil dito, pinatay muna ang daloy ng kuryente sa himpilan ng pulisya habang sinusuri ang linya at hindi natitiyak na wala nang panganib dito.
