GDI na may prangkisa ng Dunkin Donuts itinangging may pagkukulang sa pagbabayad ng buwis sa BIR
Itinanggi ng kumpanyang Golden Donuts, Inc. (GDI) ang akusasyon ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na mayroon itong tax liability na aabot sa P1.1 billion.
Sa inilabas na statement ng GDI na exclusive franchisor at license grantee sa Pilipinas ng Dunkin Donuts, itinanggi nitong hindi sila nagbayad ng buwis para sa taong 2007.
Ayon sa GDI, nabayaran na nila sa BIR ang sinasabing tax liabilities noon pang 2012.
“Golden Donuts, Inc. (GDI) categorically denies the accusations of tax evasion for the year 2007. As a matter of fact, the tax liabilities of GDI for the said year had been settled with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as of 2012. Further, it has always been compliant with all tax laws and regulations, as evidenced by tax clearances issued by the BIR over the years,” ayon sa pahayag ng GDI.
Sa ngayon hindi pa nakikita ng GDI ang kopya ng reklamo ng BIR, pero lumilitaw umano base sa naglabasang balita na ang reklamo ay ibinase sa 38% underdeclaration ng sales ng GDI.
Ayon sa GDI lahat ng kanilang franchisees ay mayroong sariling business entities at responsible sa pagbabayad ng kanilang buwis.
Nakasaad sa statement na ang GDI ay isang professionally-managed organization na mahigit 37 taon na sa food business.
