Malacañang itinanggi na nakikialam sila para mapalaya si Faeldon
Pinabulanan ni Chief Presdiential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na pinakiusapan niya si Sen. Richard Gordon na palayain na si Office of the Civil Defense Deputy Administaror Nicanor Faeldon.
Si Faeldon ay nakulong sa Senado dahil sa hindi pagdalo sa hearing kaugnay sa P6.4 Billion na shipment ng shabu noong siya pa ang pinuno ng Bureau of Customs.
Ayon kay Panelo, maaring mali lamang ng intindi si Gordon sa kanyang pagbisita sa Senado.
Una rito, sinabi ni Gordon na pinakiusapan siya ni Panelo na mabait naman si Faeldon kung kaya dapat na itong pakawalan.
Paliwanag ng opisyal, “He may have misunderstood me. He told me he wanted Faeldon released and he is only waiting for him to attend. I suggested that the committee subpoena him but he said Faeldon doesn’t want”.
Ayon kay Panelo, pinayuhan lamang niya si Faeldon na dumalo na sa hearing ng Senado kapag pinadalhan siya ng subpoena at sagutin na ang mga tanong ukol sa shipment sa shabu para makalabas na at makapagsimula sa kanyang bagong trabaho sa OCD.
“No. What I told him is that I advised Faeldon to attend the hearing if he is subpoenaed and answer the questions of the Senate Committee so that he can be released and start with his new appointment”, dagdag pa ni Panelo.
